Abstract
The purpose of the present paper has been undertaken with a view to evaluate the ICT skills of students amongst the College Library Users of Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State. So far, economic research has failed to provide a clear consensus on the level of ICT literacy skills of student’s in Polytechnics and how it affects their academic achievement. Our paper aims to summarize the main findings of the literature and to give complementary explanations. The first explanation focuses on the concept and revolution of ICT in the 21st century on standard explanatory factors. The emergence of polytechnics in Nigeria was discussed in relation to the establishment of Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State.The second phase of the review advocates on the importance of ICT literacy skills as well as the purpose of use, frequency and the effect of the skills on academic activities of polytechnic students. The challenges facing the ICT skills of polytechnic students were evaluated in which several recommendations were made.
